In honour of Meg Giry- an extremely understated character.
A few phanwank references here and there for anyone on livejournal. This is all my opinion but it just shows one of my biggest problems with LND. I mean, c'mon, why Meg? Bring Carlotta in if ya have to but Meg? In the musical Mme. Giry just saw Erik in a fair but their relationship is quite unclear unlike the movie but I think the writers overlooked this, just like the dates. So again, the Girys shouldn't even be there. Oy vey.

I know that many of you are probably going to disagree with me on this, but I have my own explanation for Meg's dramatic character change. In Love Never Dies, Meg constantly sought out her mother's approval only to be shut down. Madame Giri had become so focused on achieving her own goals that Meg became more of a means-to-an-end rather than a daughter in her eyes. As a result, Meg probably developed a feeling of emptiness which she needed to fill. Since she wasn't receiving any love from her mother, she decided that she needed to find someone who would give her the love and affection she desired. In short, desperate people will do desperate things. Even though I like Love Never Dies, I couldn't stand what they did to Madame Giri's character! Feel free to disagree with me, but this is just my interpretation.
